Feta Cheese Spread 1

There are many versions of this Greece. The most famous is Tyrokafteri, which includes a red hot chili pepper. This version uses black pepper and a hint of mustard. You can use a fork to mash it and make it chunky, or use a food processor to make it very smooth and creamy.

  • Food processor


  • 1 lb. (500 grams) Greek Feta Cheese (sheep’s milk)

  • 1 Tbsp black finely ground pepper

  • 5 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • 1 Tsp. prepared yellow or Dijon mustard


In a food processor, combine all the ingredients and puree.

Many of my summers we would leave Florida and go to the Island to spend our summers with our extended family. It was my dad’s sister’s husband, Uncle Nick, that helped inspire this recipe. One day I was playing in his yard and I noticed he was eating his breakfast. He had some crusty bread and he was spreading this white cheesy spread over it. Turns out it was just feta cheese, olive oil and pepper that my Aunt Anna prepared for him. He gave me a bite and I was hooked. It wasn’t until later on, I remembered this combination and kicked it up a notch by adding a hint of mustard. Use any homemade Keto cracker with this spread.
